To drive from Provo to the White Rock Trailhead on Antelope Island, Utah, here’s a general outline of the route (it takes about 1.5 hours from Provo):
1. Start from Provo: Head north on I-15 for approximately 70 miles.
2. Exit in Layton: Take exit 332 for Antelope Drive, then turn left (west).
3. Drive toward Antelope Island: Continue west on Antelope Drive for around 7 miles until you reach the entrance for Antelope Island State Park. There’s an entrance fee for vehicles.
4. Cross the Causeway: Proceed for about 7 miles across the causeway leading to the island.
5. Follow signs on the island: After the causeway, stay left at the fork, take a left onto Buffalo Point Road, then turn right onto White Rocks Loop Road. Look for the White Rock Trailhead near a 90-degree bend in the road.
The trailhead provides access to scenic trails with views of the Great Salt Lake and opportunities to spot local wildlife like bison. Riders must stay on the trails and are not allowed to ride freely about the island.
Be saddled and ready to ride by 10 am. Dress for the weather, as it may be cold. Check here for cancelation due to weather the day of.
We will have a chili lunch after the ride. Please let us know you're coming so we know how much food to bring.
You'll want to bring a camp chair and something to drink, and you're welcome to bring a dessert to share.
