Sistar Circle, hosted by Red Tent Otepoti Dunedin, is a space for women to come together, share stories, tend to our bodies and support each other through our journeys of womanhood. Our world can be an unendingly busy place where worth is measured by productivity, and time counted in hours. It is therefore easy for us to get swept up in our own busy-ness and forget that there may be other ways to re-energise.
Women have been gathering in circles for centuries in many cultures around the world. We believe that women’s circles play an important part in our wellbeing, creating a restorative space for women, who have or have had a womb. Sistar Circles are an important way for women to connect with each other and with ourselves.
Sistar Circles and The Red Tent is a multi-generational woman-only space where women honour the cycles of life. Red Tent is a space for women to connect in community, to explore our inner power, and to learn the wisdom of our body in a safe, nourishing and welcoming space. We invite you to bring your authentic self and experience the power of your cyclic nature.
Sistar Circle is offering Dunedin women a time and space to honour and celebrate the cycles of womanhood; Menstruation, Sexuality, Pregnancy, Birth, Menopause, and Death. Our Red Tent women’s circle also honours seasonal celebrations and offers ceremonies for our rites of passage.
Sistar Circle is intended to create a sacred space where you can be you, in a relaxing, comforting environment, uninterrupted by the demands of the outside world. Girls who have reached menarche are welcome, as are quiet babes in arms are welcome.
Our Sistar Circle gathers on the first Wednesday of each month, near the new moon, from 7pm to 9pm. We are currently limiting our gatherings to 12, to allow for deep connection and dedicated attention, while we establish ourselves.
Red Tent Otepoti Dunedin circles are co-led by Lillieana and Tracey, both have training in facilitating Red Tent gatherings, each with their own herstory of involvement in women’s circles.
Red Tent Otepoti Dunedin is organised voluntarily and we aim to be as accessible as possible, as such we ask for the small fee of $10 which covers the cost of resources.
Red Tent Otepoti Dunedin is NOT THERAPY. We are a community of women who believe through sharing our stories we support our own healing in our own timing.
If you are being called to any of our Red Tent gatherings please pre-register a few days before each event. Bookings are essential.
