Join the Lehigh Valley Amateur Astronomical Society on Saturday, November 29th, for a free public star party and an unforgettable night under the stars! This is the final public Star Party of the season. This family-friendly event invites guests of all ages to explore the wonders of the night sky with us. Enjoy immersive shows inside our full-dome planetarium, offering a guided tour of the stars and planets you’ll see that evening. Weather permitting, step outside to look through telescopes housed in our three permanent observatories—each equipped for a unique astronomical view. You’re also welcome to bring your own telescope and set it up alongside our members. Don’t forget to bring lawn chairs or a blanket so you can relax and enjoy the stars in comfort. Our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand all night to answer questions about astronomy, equipment, or the club itself. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or just curious about the cosmos, we invite you to come out, learn something new, and share in the joy of observing the universe! The Planetarium show schedule is:
6:00 - Kids Planetarium Show
7:00 - Presentation by LVAAS Member, Andrew Heilman
8:00 - Regular Planetarium Show
Our Planetarium seats 40 guests and is on a first come, first serve basis. Parking is limited so we highly recommend carpooling. More information can be found at www.lvaas.org and questions can be sent to [email protected].
New members are especially invited as it is a good opportunity to meet more LVAASers, enjoy a planetarium show, and get an intro to the observing facilities at South Mountain. You are welcome to bring your telescope if you want to get some help in how to get the most out of it, weather permitting. You may also be able to get some training on the LVAAS observatories.
