About this Event
Welcome to our Nourish & Flourish Beginner Series! A neighborhood kitchen class for chefs from ages approximately 6-12, or any youth who needs to understand the basics of kitchen prep, following a recipe, and clean-up techniques. The class will offer chef's proper safety rules for the kitchen, and appropriate handling techniques for the tools used for the day.
Family members are welcome to stay and participate!

Ramen + Kids = Happy People!
This menu offers a warm bowl of organic ramen noodle soup and asian inspired cucumber salad on the side. Jr. Chefs can choose to create a vegetable broth or chicken broth, with added organic vegetables, optional organic chicken breast, and fresh neighborhood locally sourced eggs. A recipe for any Jr. Chef to re-create at home with the ingredients inside their own fridge!
On Arrival:
Please arrive 15 min early so that all chefs are prepared to work in the kitchen on time, this includes preparation such as washing hands, wearing proper attire(each chef receives an apron to use for class), as well as visiting the learning spaces.
Chef's will start the class outside to view the garden and harvest any ingredients required for the menu, and then come inside to prepare the meal. After clean-up, time to enjoy the lunch we made together between 12:00-12:30pm. Student pick-up is after class between 12:30-1pm.
Class menu:
• Vegetable or Chicken Ramen Noodle soup with organic tofu, chicken breast, corn, bok choy, edemame, fresh ramen noodles, and a fresh soft boiled egg.
• Asian Cucumber Salad with organic cucumber and asian seasonings.
