December 6-8th, Asha Centre in Forest of Dean. This weekend has been thoughtfully curated to provide you with the understanding, experiences, and tools to begin the journey of resetting your nervous system; to help re-wire your response to stress.
There will be a range of experiences, which you can think of like a buffet of tools; so that over our time together you'll develop your own nervous system map and tool kit, to take home and continue to use and expand. We will be using mindful movement through yoga, sound - including singing (for the joy of it, all voices can sing!), guided meditation, nervous system regulation exercises, and optional dips in St Anthony's Well.
Join experienced counsellor, yoga instructor and yoga therapist, Rose, for a weekend of deep self care. A weekend of learning and experiencing - you'll be guided through education and experimentation to gain a solid understanding of your own nervous system, and how best to take care of it on a daily basis. We'll use a range of practices, so that you'll leave feeling confident to reset your nervous system and establish your unique wellbeing-guide to nourish and strengthen your nervous system.
We will be set in the beautiful Asha Centre, a hidden treasure in the heart of the Forest of Dean, where we will devote a whole weekend to returning to our true nature; seeking homeostasis within body and nervous system, and becoming reconnected to our grounded selves.
A guide of what to expect (subject to minor changes, final details are provided to attendees a week before the retreat):
Friday:
Arrive between 5-6pm for a gentle welcome circle and dinner, followed by a gorgeous guided meditation of Yoga Nidra to set you up for a good night's sleep.
Saturday:
We begin the day meeting and befriending our nervous system. After breakfast there's an optional dip in the stunning and mystical cold waters of St Anthony's Well, just a short walk away in the nearby woods. We'll take ourselves to the eco lodge in the garden to warm up and sing Kirtan, and medicine songs. We'll share a nourishing lunch, and dive into a soothing, insightful workshop down-regulating the nervous system. There will be time to rest and consolidate until dinner, and we close the day with gentle bed time movement & another dreamy meditation.
Sunday:
We start with a somatic style yoga practice to nurture our bodies and practice positive up-regulation, before enjoying a delicious breakfast and another visit to St Anthony's Well, to wash away any remaining tension in our bodies. On retuning to the centre, we'll start to pack our things, and prepare to end our time together with a closing circle. We will share some more singing and have lunch together before we start to make our journeys home, with full hearts and bellies, restored nervous systems, and new friends.
