Welcome to Women Inspiring Women WI’s 10th anniversary celebration - Not Your Average Saturday -Laugh, Learn, and Get Inspired. April 12, 2025 will be a day filled with inspiration and fun for women of every age and stage of life.
Coffee and goodies will be served at registration, followed by an enlightening morning program.
Krystal Schouten, owner of Fitness Reset and specialist in fitness and pelvic floor health, will lead a session on women’s health and fitness in her energizing style. Focusing on pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, Krystal strives to help women understand their bodies, improve their health, and regain their confidence.
We will hear from Kristin Toushan Blinkhorn about the Forensic Nursing program at Brantford General Hospital. What is offered, who is served, and the development hopes and plans for the program.
Forensic nursing provides assistance for patients experiencing violence or victimization, both at the time they initially present and onward throughout their process through the legal system. Forensic nurses are specially trained to provide specialized care and consultation for such patients.
Deb Loyd, local storyteller and inspirational speaker, will share Lighthearted Ways to Achieve a Happier Life. Deb’s entertaining approach will keep you engaged as you learn how to live with more joy and simplicity in our hectic world.
Following lunch our keynote speaker, Dr Christy Lane, will be featured in a fireside chat with WIW member Trish Benne. Christy will discuss her extensive experience navigating the world of science, tech, and venture capital as a woman and as a mom. Christy is an investor, founder, professor, and exercise scientist who currently resides in Calgary but was born and raised in Brantford. Her newest venture, Flora Fertility, was recently featured in Forbes magazine as they secured pre-seed funding for their startup in fertility insurance for women.
Attendees will enjoy a light breakfast, all featured speakers, a mini market by specially curated local makers, a delicious plated lunch, and a gift bag of items carefully selected by WIW members. A cash bar will be open over the lunch session.
Proceeds of this event will be directed to the Forensic Nursing program at Brantford General Hospital for ongoing program development and training.
