This hike will NOT be the famous (?) Billy Goat A rock-scramble hike, but an exploration of the woodland trails on the Maryland side of the Potomac. Trails used will include a short section of the Berma Road and the Valley, Gold Mine, and Ford Mine trails and a portion of the C & O Canal Towpath, plus a side trip to view the Falls from the Maryland side. Estimated 5 to 7 miles total. The photo above is not along the trails we will use.
Please note the 9:00 start time and plan to arrive a bit early as the free parking lots tend to fill completely on good hiking days.
