About this Event
Three bands, beer, food and fun at Napa Yard!
Napa Yard and Not Loud Concerts presents a Harvest Hoedown on Oct. 12 from 2:00 - 5:00. Come on out to Napa’s friendliest community gathering spot for an afternoon of Bluegrass and Americana music that will get your toes tapping and your hands clapping all while enjoying great food and beer.
The show will take place out on the lawn with a beautiful stage. Chairs and hay bales provided for sitting, or bring your own blanket or lawn chair.
The music starts at 2:00 with local singing guitarist Chance McCauley who will present his heartfelt Americana followed by cosmic Alt-bluegrass band, Alan Bond and Skeddaldle at 2:45. Finishing off the Harvest Hoedown will be globe trotting bluegrass band Dirty Cello showing off their high energy singin’ and cello slingin’.
This is an all ages event and well-behaved children are welcome with their parents nearby. A special mini beer garden will be set up as part of the festival, or steps away there is a full service bar serving “garden to glass” cocktails. Also, great BBQ will be available throughout the event.
Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door. Tickets available at the door.
About Dirty Cello:
From Iceland to Italy, and all over the U.S., San Francisco based band Dirty Cello brings the world a high energy and unique spin on blues, rock, and Americana. Led by vivacious cross-over cellist, Rebecca Roudman, Dirty Cello is cello like you’ve never heard before. From down home blues and rock with a wailing cello to virtuosic stompin’ Americana, Dirty Cello is a band that gets your heart thumping and your toes tapping!
"Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical." Oakland Magazine
About Alan Bond and Skedaddle:
Alan Bond & Skedaddle is a San Francisco Bay Area band featuring a mix of original songs, bluegrass, and old-time. Styling themselves a “California Cosmic String Band,” they offer a distinct approach to new and traditional material with topics that range from vintage cowboy to galactic insight. Alan Bond (mandolin, guitar, vocals) has written many great songs that have seeded their rapidly crystallizing repertoire. Alan is joined by Judy Forrest (guitar, vocals), Tom Lucas (banjo, fiddle, vocals — who also writes songs), and Bruce “the groove is the thing” Lacey (bass, vocals).
About Chance McCauley:
Chance McCauley is a Napa based singer-songwriter bringing their own west coast soul to every stage they meet.
Over the years, Chance has been performing across the country while gaining both fans and recognition. They have been honored to perform at iconic venues including the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and the Whiskey a Go-Go in LA. They have even been invited to perform at the famous SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Chance has received numerous awards for both performance and songwriting. Most notably, their song “Home” won Song of the Year for West Coast Songwriters. Chance’s debut album, Home, is available now for streaming.
What are Not Loud Concerts?
Not Loud Concerts was inspired by numerous jokes on the internet about wanting to go see a concert that was, “Not too loud, not too late, not too long and not too expensive.”
With this idea in mind, Not Loud Concerts was created to showcase music based on the following principles:
- Not too loud
- Comfortable seating
- No hidden fees or crazy ticket prices
- Good parking whenever possible
- Not too long
These concerts are created for the enjoyment of the audience and are not based on old traditions.
What to expect:
At a Not Loud Concert the band will perform for around an hour with no intermission. The concerts will feature outstanding musicians performing in a lightly amplified manner with primarily acoustic instruments. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the show.
