About this Event
Mayor Harry W. Rilling announced that he has selected The Salvation Army and Family & Children’s Agency as the two non-profit beneficiaries for the 2025 Mayor’s Ball, scheduled for Friday, March 14th, 2025.
The Mayor’s Ball, established as a non-profit charitable institution in 1993, is an annual nonpartisan event that brings people together to help raise funds for local organizations selected by the Mayor of Norwalk.
The Salvation Army provides food pantry and access services, hosts weekly children’s programs, assists with referrals to community assistance programs, and holds worship services. 2024 marks the 140th anniversary of The Salvation Army’s arrival in Norwalk. In 2024, the organization served over 3,000 individuals seeking food assistance, resources, or other programs. Donations will support The Salvation Army’s food pantry, children’s programming, and other supports provided by the organization.
Family & Children’s Agency has been helping Norwalk residents for over 80 years, reaching over 10,000 people every year. The organization provides parent education programs, development and behavioral health services, adoption and foster family assistance, after school and summer programs, crime assistance, and supportive housing. Family & Children’s Agency are members of Norwalk ACTS and Opening Doors Fairfield County, they also serve as the umbrella organization for senior services in the Norwalk community.
“The money raised for the Mayor’s Ball will help benefit two incredible organizations that are instrumental in helping individuals and families in our community: The Salvation Army and the Family and Children’s Agency,” Mayor Harry Rilling said. “The Salvation Army provides critical access to food pantries and support for children’s programming. Family & Children’s Agency provides critical support to people of all ages, including seniors and families looking for educational support, behavioral health programs, and resources for those looking to grow their families through adoption and foster care. I hope the community will join us for this wonderful event in support of these remarkable organizations.”
