The event will start with a presentation in The Sill on the rocks and geological history of the area and how they have influenced the landscape. We will then take our walk and see at first hand the rocks themselves and understand how they and geological processes have shaped the terrain. The walk, which involves some quite steep (though short) stepped ascents and descents, will provide opportunity to understand how different environments and changing climates in the past have moulded our region, as well as offering majestic views of the local countryside and The Wall.Dress for changeable weather and wear suitable footwear. Bring a packed lunch, snacks and a drink for the break.
Dogs are not permitted at this event.
Duration: 5 hours
