About this Event

Welcome to registration of The Northern Thunder (2024) – the Chapter Event, Organised by East Coast H.O.G. This event is not meant to be over the top or too structured, just fun, a chance to catch up, tell stories, have a laugh, most of all ride a stunning part of our beautiful country.

The Northern Thunder (2024) is set to have the streets of New Plymouth & the Taranaki region Rumbling with the distinctive sound of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles!

Come & join with your fellow H.O.G members kicking back for a well-earned party of like-minded riders during the weekend of 8th -10th November 2024.

Registration will be at The Plymouth International from 5-7pm Friday, 8th of November & again Saturday, 9th of November 8.30-10am.

After registrations closes we will all meet at 10.15am outside The Plymouth International for a ride Briefing and getting ready for a 10.30am Departure (please make sure you have a full tank or at least enough fuel) The ride is approximately 200kms round trip. More details to follow about the route and location.

Lunch included with your registration has 3 options which we need to prebook so when you register.

Option 1 – Homemade Pie and Chips

Option 2 – Fish and Chips

Option 3 – GF option

Please note if you change your mind and want to change your meal you will need to find someone to swap with as the venue will have premade meals based upon pre-orders.

That evening will include a two course Dinner (included with registration) and an evening of fun & entertainment. This will be held in the Grand Ballroom of The Plymouth International from 5.30pm. This will include a Charity auction with all profits going to The Dream Chaser Foundation and a Taranaki Charity that does great work in the community.

Sunday after breakfast included with your accommodation if you choose to stay at the Plymouth or the Auto lodge, you’ll pack up for the ride home…or wherever the roads take you!

FAQs;

How many people do you expect? Due to venue Licensing & capacities, ticket numbers are limited and we are sure to sell out fast.

What are my accommodation options? Self-Booking, We have however secured a discounted room rate at The Plymouth International and its sister Property, The Auto Lodge Motor Inn. To take advantage of the discount All you need to do is ring either Venue & quote the discount code HOGNT. Booking online will not unlock the discount, in fact if you try to book online the accommodation it will appear fully booked, we have secured a large number of rooms that can only be booked using the code. However, if not fully booked withing 90 days of the event these will be released to members of the public, so again get in quick. The special rate at these two properties also includes a full cooked and continental buffet breakfast. There is a good range of Accommodation in town from 4.5 star to the campground.

What are my parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking should be available at your accommodation as well as first-come at the venue.

What can I bring into the event? Bring yourself, a positive attitude and the a charitable approach to the Auction, above all else bring your H-D motorcycle & a desire to explore!! Don’t bring non-HOG back patches or personal alcohol to a licensed premises.

What is the refund policy? No Refunds will be provided, unless at the discretion of event management. Event management reserve the right to postpone the event to a time that is appropriate in the future, there are many potential reasons for this and most are outside the control of event management.

Who can buy tickets? All tickets are first-come, first-served to current Harley Owners Group members who are able to invite one additional guest.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Yes please!

Can I update my registration information? At the Discretion of event Management

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? At the Discretion of event Management


Liability Release; Registration and attendance at The Northern Thunder includes a release of liability by attendees against Harley-Davidson Motor Company and/or The Harley Owners Group and/or Harley-Davidson Authorised Dealers and/or HOG Chartered Chapters and their respective officers, directors, employees, and/or agents to the extent permitted by law and agreement to waive, release, discharge, and hold harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, and/or expenses arising out of or in connection with any participation in this event.
