Join us for an inspiring evening as Northern State University welcomes internationally renowned author and advocate Loung Ung as the keynote speaker for the annual Larry and Julie Poeppel Family Common Read Lecture.๐ Loung Ung is best known for her powerful memoir First They Killed My Father, which chronicles her childhood under the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia and has been adapted into a Netflix film directed by Angelina Jolie. She continues to share her story worldwide as a passionate voice for human rights and peace.
