Free entry music, great to enjoy with delicious food & drinks, all available at Darley Street Kitchen.The Northern Star Organ trio formed in 2023 as an informal meet up between three old friends. We quickly realised a strong musical connection and started to play out live in the North of England.
The trio consists of Bruce Renshaw (drums), Rob Bromhead (guitar), and Bob Birch (Hammond organ). The combo play a mixture of instrument soul classics, rare groove and original tunes with a definite nod to 1960’s Blue Note recordings.
Bob became known for his Hammond playing after joining the New Mastersounds funk/jazz fusion band in 1998, touring Europe and the US for over twenty years and producing over a dozen albums. Rob heads up Baildon Guitar School and is part of Appel4, a gypsy jazz band. Bruce, who specialised in drums, piano and composition at Leeds College of Music, has played in rock bands, big bands, jazz bands, percussion ensembles, brass bands, funk bands and musicals.
This constellation of three seasoned performers with a wide range of experience between them promises to be hugely enjoyable.
