About this Event
This two-day conference brings together engineering, education, law enforcement, EMS and highway safety specialists from across the Northeast to focus on a common goal: the reduction of fatalities and injuries on our roadways.
We'll hear from national and regional experts to learn the latest advances being made in transportation safety and see the most innovative technology.
This conference will take place in Portland, Maine from October 4 - 5, 2022. We hope you can join us!

Join staff from FHWA, VHB, and Bicycle Coalition of Maine for a 60-minute on the street conversation about what works – and what doesn’t – for pedestrians. Starting just outside the hotel and ending at one of the Old Port’s finer establishments… Limited to 16 total participants so sign up early! E Bike Demo- Want to try the latest biking technology? Join us for a 45-minute e-bike ride (e-bikes and helmets provided) along a 4.5-mile loop around Portland’s Eastern Prom with picturesque views of Casco Bay and through Portland’s historic Old Port! Two separate time slots, groups meet at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The sign-up sheet for these rides will be at the registration desk on Tuesday morning. Each ride will be limited to 8 participants so sign up early!
Shifting Gears- The Blunt Truth About Marijuana & Driving - As more states legalize recreational marijuana, it is essential to apply the “designated driver” model to cannabis use to prevent impaired driving. This workshop will outline AAA’s Shifting Gears: The Blunt Truth About Marijuana & Driving program. Participants will leave equipped with a curriculum they can utilize in their own communities to educate the next generation of drivers.
One day registration: $50
Two day registration: $100
