About this Event
The event is now sold out.Email [email protected] to be added to the waiting list. After a third sell out event last year we’re bringing back the graveltastic North London Dirt for 2021.
We’re also continuing to donate all profits to the St Mary's Community Centre in London N16.
NLD 4 is a self supported event, over a brand new multi-surface 70 mile / 110 km route running out of north east London. On the day riders will enjoy a fresh brew from the legendary Workshop Coffee, enjoy a unique route - then finish with Magic Rock Brewing beer, pizza and plenty of hanging out back at the centre. We'll have swag for ALL finishers and some exciting prize draws too.
Pas Normal Studios are back as headline partners and are coming over from Copenhagen to show off their amazing riding kit. Canyon Bikes are back on board too. They will be bringing their awesome 'cross and gravel bikes, manning a tune up area and drink stop on the route (where Outdoor Provisions will be supplying their yummy natural energy bars). POC Protection (long term helmet choice of Phil and I) and Brooks (showing off their new Scape bikepacking bag range) are also joining us. Thank you, thank you, thank you guys!
We are also delighted to announce we’re partnering with Ride For Unity this year. One of the reasons Phil and I live in London is because of the diverse community that surrounds us. We want to see this inspiring mix of people reflected in the riders we see out on the road and trails too. Through R4U we're reaching out further to spread our message that we're excited to welcome riders from a wide range of backgrounds to experience the joy of North London Dirt. Ride For Unity is a global community that celebrates our unity and diversity as cyclists. Find out more on www.ride4unity.org
North London Dirt is again raising funds for the New St Mary's Centre in Stoke Newington N16 (a centre that houses, amongst other things, the Hackney Night Shelter, the Hackney Migrant Centre and the local food bank). Since the last event the building has been finished and the funds from the event will go to equipment for the centre and to support the work that’s done in the centre for the community. Some details here: stmaryscentren16.org.
Again, all of the proceeds from the event will go to this local charity. Yes... we’ve put the ticket price up this year - we wanted to raise more funds for the centre, while still feeling like fair value for a great day in the saddle.
You should ride a bike with tyres suitable off-road riding - bearing in mind you'd be pushing it a bit with slick narrow tyres on some of the dirt. We were happiest on over 32mm gravel or 'cross tyres with a bit of tread.
You will need to be totally self-supported, riding with everything you need to finish a ride of this length - and we'd suggest carrying two spare tubes.
We'll send out a gpx and tcx file a few days before the event to ticket holders so you'll have time to load-up a gps (there will be no signage so some kind of GPS / phone for navigation is ESSENTIAL).
We've decided on a no-refunds policy for this event again. As it's a fundraiser, we'd hope that people not making it on the day will be happy to sit back and feel good about making a donation either way... leaving that donation for the centre.
This is the bit where we say: We, the organisers have no responsibility for riders or their bikes in any way on this event.
Good riding, good coffee, good beer, good vibes... AND you're doing your bit for charity.
Hope to see you at 7.30am for an 8am start on SATURDAY 11 September 2021!
Andrew and Philip
