About this Event
This is a great opportunity to practice Leave No Trace Behind principles, log some beach time and enjoy some outstanding food! The 52 Hike Challenge North Carolina Chapter is proud to partner with Poe's Tavern to help clean up Wrightsville Beach. Plus, Poe's Tavern will provide a free appetizer or draft beer, a T-Shirt and supplies! We will meet at the circle drive at Johnnie Mercer's Pier at 6:30pm and we can pickup either direction on the beach for 30 minutes which is enought time to go 1/2 mile and return.
When: Tuesday, July 9, 2024 . Check in, introductions between 6:15 and 6:30 pm.
Skill Level: Easy. Approximately 1.0 mile.
Be sure to wear adequate clothing, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Poe's tries to have ample supplies, but you may want to bring two garbage bags, one for trash and one for recyclables.
In the past, we have walked the beach for fun earlier in the day, go to Poes for a late lunch, then to the Pier. Poe's Tavern is located at 212 Causeway Drive, Wrightsville Beach, NC. Their website can be found at poestavern.com.
Parking and Address: Parking can be at a premium and there is a meter charge to park. Recommend to get there a bit early to find a parking place in case you need to walk to the meeting area.
