About this Event
OptOutside is a nationwide movement started by our corporate partner REI in 2015, when REI decided to give their employees Thanksgiving and the next day off, which was the traditional "Black Friday' shopping event. Employees get outside and enjoy nature, help revitalize trails and event areas, and reconnect with the outdoors.
This year, the North Carolina Chapter of 52 Hike Challenge is joining the Cary REI at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve for a morning of fellowship with mother nature, some tasty treats courtesy of REI manager Jim Bennett, and enjoying each others friendship.
The park opens at 9:00 am and I suggest you get there when it opens because it is traditionally a busy day and parking is limited. If a group of you can carpool it with certainly help.
