Canada's Fiddling Sensation Calvin Vollrath will host a full weekend of fiddle music with the participation of illustrious fiddlers & musicians from across Canada & the USA gathering in Edmonton, AB for this one-time convention to celebrate the release of Calvin's 'pinnacle' album and his 50th year in the music industry.The event will kick off on Thursday Oct 23 with a Dine & Dance and music by Calvin Vollrath & Country Swing, a 7-piece band of seasoned musicians from the Edmonton area that will have you kicking up your heels all night. A great way to kick off the weekend events.
Friday Oct 24, Calvin Vollrath will release the 'Collaborations' album. With the help of 27 collaborators, together they co-composed 27 new tunes ranging in styles from Old Time, Celtic, Country, Big Band Swing, Bluegrass, Appalachian, Gypsy Jazz, Reggae. Many of those collaborators will be at the convention and will join Calvin on stage for this historic concert.
Saturday & Sunday, Oct 25 & 26, the Collaborators will offer workshops in the mornings and present a concert in the afternoons.
Saturday evening, Calvin will host his '50th Anniversary Celebration' concert and will be joined on stage by many guests.
The weekend promises to be a highlight of the year of any fiddler or musician!
