Norfolk Team Blitz Tournament The second Norfolk Team Blitz Tournament will be held at the Horstead Tithe Barn, Rectory Rd, Horstead, Norwich NR12 7EP (The home of Broadland Chess Club) on Wednesday evening 25th September 2024.
Start time will be 19:30.
Playing rates will be 5 minutes plus a 2 second increment.
Each team will consist of 3 players with one reserve allowed for player rotation if required.
Note teams do not need club affiliation nor are players required to hold ECF membership.
The tournament will be restricted to a maximum of 16 Teams (Strictly based on entry and payment timeline)
In the event that a minimum of 14 Teams participate two tournament groups, based on ratings, will allow for an all play all, less than 14 Teams and the tournament will switch to a six round Swiss tournament.
Board order will be determined by ratings using Norfolk League rules.
Blitz ratings will be used, if unavailable ratings will be determined using firstly Rapidplay ratings if available and then Standard play ratings to determine board order.
Unrated players will be given either the team average unless the controller determines that an alternative assessment is more appropriate.
All games will be submitted to ECF for rating.
In all matters the controller's (John Wickham) decision will be final.
