
About this Event
Now in its third year, the Norfolk Small Charities Showcase celebrates and promotes community organisations (with an annual income of under £250,000) and provides an opportunity to raise awareness of your services, attract new volunteers or investment in one of the county's most iconic venues with high public footfall.
Hosted, and funded, by The Kearns Foundation the event has two parts.
Part 1 - A public exhibition, on the ground floor Atrium of the iconic Forum building in Norwich city centre where Norfolk serving small charities can raise awareness of the services they offer, attract new volunteers or investment whilst also networking with other small local organisations to share ideas and learn from each other.
Stalls in the exhibition are free of charge to small Norfolk serving community organisations (subject to a refundable £20 deposit) Stalls are limited to 30 organisations and must be pre-booked. To request a space, purchase a £20 stallholder ticket below. Your fee will be refunded if you attend and your stall is operational between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Part 2 - a series of short, free to attend one hour workshops providing information and advice to small community groups on subjects such as fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, recruiting Trustees and organising community events.
Attendance at the skills workshops are open to anyone working or volunteering in any Norfolk serving community organisation, irrespective of their annual income, and are also free to attend, but require pre-booking.
Workshop 1 - Recruiting and Managing Volunteers - (10am to 11am in The View). This workshop will share tried and tested techniques to support finding the right people to volunteer with your organisation, and how to keep them engaged.
Workshop 2 - Fundraising through Applications, Appeals and Events (11.30am - 12.30pm in The View)Learn the skills of sucessfully identifying the right fundraising model for you and the key points to sucess of using applications appeals or events to raise money for your cause.
Workshop 3 - Trustee Recruitment (1pm -2pm in The View) Some useful tips on finding the right person for the right role in this crucial, but often overlooked and misunderstood function.
Workshop 4 - Managing Events (2.30pm-3.30pm in The View) C.ommunity events need careful planning and this workshop looks at how to plan, impliment and evaluate community events
Workshops are free to attend for anyone working or volunteering with a community organisation in Norfolk and are limited to 15 people and must be pre-booked.
