We chose a Danish book this month, although it is available in English as well. The book is called “Miss Smilla’s Feeling for Snow” by Peter Høeg. A best seller when it was published in 1993, the novel is set in Copenhagen and Greenland and traces the investigation into the suspicious death of a Greenlandic boy.
I find this book to be extremely interesting so far and very relevant for our international group! You will most likely be able to recognize street names and landmarks in Cph that are mentioned in the book, and there is also a focus on Denmark’s treatment of Greenland and Greenlanders, which is still an extremely relevant and controversial topic today.
