About this Event

Join us for glögg* and mingle and a conversation about value based leadership and Nordic values in action.

The Scandinavian School and Cultural Center (SSCC) was founded in 2002, and what started as a small playgroup has grown over the years to a full time language immersion preschool and cultural center that serves a diverse community and offers programming for all ages and language levels. But the mission of the organization has not changed as this non-profit's goal is to inspire lifelong experiential learning built on Nordic values. These values of democracy, sustainability, equity & progressiveness to name a few are present in the day-to-day running of the organization. Preschool Director and Co-Founder of SSCC Mimmi Skoglund together with Admissions Director Pia Eriksson are here to talk about the SSCC story and what Nordic values in action means.

Sjöblom Winery will be here to serve their glögg to participants and Lapland bakery kindly donates cookies for the event. Sjöblom Winery will also have their own pop-up, so if you wish to take some mulled wine home, pre-order your product with the code below, avoid shipping fees and pick up your bottles at the event.

This event is co-hosted by the Scandinavian School and Cultural Center and SWEA Professional. SWEA San Francisco has generously supported SSCC over the years, most recently with a $25,000 donation towards the Together Campaign - to support the expansion project for the SSCC campus and programming.

This is an adult-only event and held in English. We welcome SWEA-members, SSCC community and everyone interested to learn more about nordic values to join. In addition to glögg, some light snacks are served.

Come celebrate the holiday season with us!

* Glögg is a Nordic version for mulled wine. This spiced hot drink is served in Nordic countries during Christmas season. The non-alcoholic version is often made using black currant juice as the main ingredient while the alcoholic version is wine based.
