Nordic Skiing for Kids
This fun and engaging one-hour class series is designed to introduce kids to the exciting world of Nordic skiing! Whether they're new to skiing or looking to improve their skills, this class covers the fundamentals of the sport in a friendly, supportive environment. Kids will learn basic techniques, such as proper form, hot to glide on skis, turning, and stopping. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation of skills while building confidence & balance.
Dates: Saturdays - January 11 & 25, February 8 & 22, March 8, 2025
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM (9-14 yrs old) 10:00 - 11:00 AM (4-8 yrs old)
Location: Deception Nordic Trail System, Deception Creek Turnout (Participants must have their own transportation to the class location. Head west/Northwest out of Dubois on Highway 26/287. The Deception Creek Turnout is at Mile Marker 30.5, on the left.)
Facilitator/Instructor: Mike Tornesello (Visiting instructors may be present at each class.)
Cost: $25/student for all five classes.
NOTE: Parents/caregivers are expected to remain onsite. PLEASE do not drop off your child and leave. The class venue has spotty cell service, and it would be difficult to contact a parent/guardian in an event of an emergency.
Participants must have Nordic Skis, boots and poles; please contact CWC for rental options.

Additional Free-Ski Opportunities: January 18, February 1 & 15, March 1. On alternate Saturdays, students will have the chance to put their skills into practice during a free-ski session, where they can explore the trails, ski at their own pace, and receive feedback from the facilitators in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
