The concert is free and open to the public, and an offering will be collected with 50% going to the performer and the other half supporting St. Mark’s Piano and Organ Fund.. Meet the performer:
Vannia Phillips is a professional violist, violinist, and teacher in the Chicago area. She has been a member of the Chicago Sinfonietta’s viola section since 1998, and performs with groups throughout the Chicago area. Vannia received a BA in philosophy from Villanova University before pursuing a Bachelor of Music at Oberlin Conservatory, where she studied with Jeff Irvine and Lynne Ramsey. She studied with Rami Solomonov at DePaul University, completing her Master of Music in performance. Vannia lives in Evanston with her husband Tim and dog Chickie. She is on faculty at the Music Institute of Chicago.
