CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training is perfect for primary caregivers, educators and human service professionals who directly intervene in crisis situations, teaching staff de-escalation techniques as well as restrictive and nonrestrictive interventions.When you complete this blended instructor certification program, you become qualified to teach Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and our Verbal Intervention training program to staff within your organization.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Pre-Training: NCI Online Course (3-4 hours)
Before your live virtual training begins, you must complete an online course. This sets the foundation for future sessions and quizzes you to make sure you retain what you’ve learned. You will receive an invitation to complete the online portion of training approximately 10 days before your virtual training event.
2. Live Virtual Training (1 Day, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
You will attend a live, interactive instruction session led by a CPI Global Professional Instructor. You will be required to complete an online exam at the end of the virtual event. Upon completion of the pre-training, the live virtual training, and the online exam, you will be certified to teach CPI’s Verbal Intervention™ training program.
3. Classroom Training (2 Days, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
You will attend a two-day, face-to-face classroom session led by a Global Professional Instructor to train and assess your restrictive intervention skills as well as assess your competency in the overall program through teach-back exercises. Your classroom training will be conducted on the dates listed above.
