The Bay Area Community Foundation, in partnership with Tri-Star Trust, invites you to join us on Thursday, May 8, 2025, for an in-person Nonprofit Workshop focused on Relationship First Fundraising. Listening to our local nonprofits is a top priority, and we’ve heard you! Feedback from last year’s workshop and ongoing conversations have highlighted the importance of diversifying funding, building donor engagement plans, and ensuring sustainable futures. This year, we’re diving into these topics with a special focus on how authentic, trust-based relationships are at the heart of successful fundraising.
Join us at the Pere Marquette Depot (1000 Adams St., Bay City, MI) in the 1904 Room to hear from Andy Bethune of Tri-Star Trust as he shares insights from his newly released book, Relationship First Fundraising: Mastering Fundraising Through Relationships and Trust.

Information on Andrew Bethune:
Andrew Bethune is the Vice President for Business Development at Tri-Star Trust Bank in Saginaw, Michigan. Prior to joining Tri-Star, Andy was the executive director of the SVSU Foundation.
In his 18 years with the foundation, Andy oversaw numerous private fundraising initiatives that raised over $100 million for the university. His final initiative during his tenure was the fundraising campaign to construct the Carmona College of Business, which raised nearly $16 million in private support.
Andy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University in 1987, a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University in 2008, and achieved his Certified Fundraising Executive designation in 2010.
Andy’s community involvement includes being the Chair of Men’s Golf Fellowship – Saginaw, Chair of the Mridha International Institute for Peace and Happiness, as well as serving on the board of directors of MyMichigan Health and the Saginaw Country Club.
