Speaker - Kate Bean, Founder and former CEO of Averson Charter Schools
Kate Bean is a Harvard ALI Fellow and the current CEO of iChangeCourse, which advises nonprofit leaders and startup practices. Previously for 18 years she served as the founder/CEO of Aveson, a non-profit organization built to manage charter schools and lead a national movement to challenge traditional K-12 education. Kate also founded and led the first workers’ cooperative for public school educators in the state of California and served on the board of the California Center for Cooperative Development.
Speaker - David Harris, Managing Partner of Interim Executive Solutions
David Harris (HBS '84) is leading the Interim Executive Solutions, the only national organization exclusively dedicated to placing and supporting professional interim leaders for nonprofits. David has led projects with a diverse set of organizations including YouthBuild Boston, the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, Commonwealth Land Trust and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
Speaker - Kannan Thiruvengadam, Founder and Director of Eastie Farm
Kannan Thiruvengadam is the founder and director of Eastie Farm, a Boston-based community nonprofit that pursues climate justice, food security, and community resilience. He also hosts “What’s up Eastie”, a radio show about local issues in a larger context, at Zumix, a youth organization in East Boston, and is a Climate Ready Boston Leader and member of the Boston Community Preservation Committee.
