Litchfield Land Trust President, John Markelon, will present a dynamic program on the adverse effects that non-native invasive plants have on biodiversity. He will also cover techniques to eradicate invasives and provide recommendations for native alternatives. John strives to empower private landowners to steward their land in ways that enhance habitat quality and promote biodiversity. Presenter John Markelon is currently the President of the Litchfield Land Trust, and is a recently retired high school Environmental Science teacher. John is a passionate advocate of using native pollinator plants to create biodiverse backyard habitats.
