NOLA Jitterbugs swing dance series with LIVE music in the last class! New 6-week series starts Monday March 27th at The Contemporary Arts Center. 7pm Beginners
8pm Intermediate/Advanced
BEGINNERS at 7pm
This class is for those new to swing dancing or need to brush up on the basics of moving with a partner to jazz, swing, & blues. No partner is required to join this class as we rotate partners as we learn. Live music featured in the last class to put your new skills into action!
If you took our last beginner series we recommend taking this one as well. After the last series, we made some adjustments to the flow and restructured it to get you swinging out sooner rather than later. (and with low stress)
Teachers: This series is taught by the entire NOLA Jitterbugs Collective

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED at 8pm -
You MUST already know how to do lindy hop. You don't have to be the most perfect dancer but you do need to have already learned the foundational elements of lindy and be able to dance them socially. That means, basic leading and following knowledge, how to do an 8 count swing out, how to move across the floor with triple steps, 6 count patterns, 8 count patterns, and so on. This class is not for newbies. You gotta know how to do a swing out.
In this class we'll be prepping y'all for dancing with all the out of towners coming in for French Quarter Fest and/or The New Orleans Swing Dance Festival. This one is sure to level up your dancing and build confidence before the big weekend. New moves! New ideas! New brains to pick about dance! It's gonna be so good!
After FQF/NOLA Swing Dance Fest, we'll debrief all the things you felt and observed dancing with the global Swing dance community. There will be lots to talk about!
