BLACK GALAXIE

BLACK GALAXIE is Canadian composer, Nolan Hildebrand. Since its inception in 2019, BLACK GALAXIE has explored many different types of skronky sounds, disgusting noises, and chaotic sound production methods. In its current form, BLACK GALAXIE utilizes mixer feedback, effects pedals, computer software, and voice. The mixer feedback triggers a drum VST to create an extreme metal-esque assault of inhuman rhythms. Screams are ripped apart by noise. Frantic yelps battle against glitched out samples. Piercing feedback crumbles into gurgling sludge.

mike barber is an experimental composer/artist based in hamilton, canada. for over 20 years he has been recording and performing both as a solo artist and as a collaborator in experimental and avant-garde formations in toronto, montréal, philadelphia, and new york city. he has also composed and performed musical scores to a number of independent documentaries and short films.
