About this Event

Please join the Biodiversity Inventory at Western (BIW) for a guided event surveying nocturnal biodiversity. This event will be led by Jackson Kusack, PhD Candidate at Western University. We will be focusing on nocturnal insects and will demonstrate how to use the iNaturalist community science app to identify species from photos and contribute to the City Nature Challenge. The event will last for 2 hours, weather permitting. This is a ‘come and go as you please’ event so you can pop over anytome between 9-11pm.
The mothing sheets/lights will be set up behind the John Labatt Visual Arts Centre (Western University, Perth Drive). Parking is available at the parking lot between the Visual Arts Centre and the Western Interdisciplinary Research Building (43°00'39.8"N 81°16'13.4"W).
Please contact Jackson at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Help track biodiversity in London by participating in the City Nature Challenge!

The CNC is an international community science event in which regions compete to make the most observations of nature. Community science data is useful for tracking trends in biodiversity and can inform local conservation management and land use planning. Participating in the CNC is a way for you to contribute to protecting wildlife and habitat in London!

From April 26th to 29th, make observations of wild plants, animals and fungi and upload the photos or sounds into iNaturalist.

Check out CNCLdnOnt.ca for more details!
