About this Event
Our Noche de las Memorias is held annually on World Aids Day, 12/1 at our monument in Lincoln Park. The monument has over 3,000 names of those who have passed from HIV/AIDS. We receive new name submissions from across the country every year which we honor during our program. The names are sandblasted onto the monument free of charge and is a place for loved ones to commemorate those they have lost.
With Laura Diaz (recently honored as one of the top 10 most influential Latina journalists) as our MC of the night, our program consists of an opening prayer from faith leaders, performances, testimonials from family members of those who have passed from HIV/AIDS, a candlelight vigil and unveiling of new names to be added on the monument.
