About this Event

New Orleans Holiday Stories is a captivating production that offers a unique look at both the vibrant music of New Orleans and the cherished melodies of the Holiday Season. This enchanting performance shares the joy that music brings to life in the region, blending the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans with the warmth and nostalgia of the holidays.

Audiences will be treated to an eclectic mix of musical selections that celebrate both the spirit of the city and the festive season. From the soulful strains of "The City of New Orleans" and the classic "Basin Street Blues" to the hauntingly beautiful "House of the Rising Sun," each song tells a story that resonates with the heart. The production by the Theatre Arts Department also features beloved holiday classics such as "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," the humorous "12 Pains of Christmas," and the timeless "Little Drummer Boy."

As the show unfolds, the lively rhythms of "Mardi Gras Mambo" and the serene beauty of "Blue Bayou" transport audiences to the streets of New Orleans, where the spirit of celebration is always alive. The uplifting anthem "Joy to the World" rounds out this extraordinary musical journey, reminding us all of the joy and togetherness that music brings during this special time of year.

Join us for New Orleans Holiday Stories, where the magic of music and the warmth of the holiday season come together in a truly unforgettable experience.

The show will run for public performances on Thursday, Nov 21st and Friday, Nov 22nd at 7pm in the Nims Blackbox Theatre on the main NOCCA campus. Ninty minutes (no intermission | pause)
