About this Event
Welcome to N.O.B.L.E. Empowerment Training
Join us for a day of NOBLE Empowerment Training at the Orange County Multicultural Center, 7149 W. Colonial Drive, Orlando, Florida 32818. We will bring law enforcement professionals, community leaders, and the community together to share, reflect, and celebrate our collective journey. The training emphasizes building positive relationships, promoting transparency, and addressing systemic issues to enhance public safety and community well-being. Through this training, both law enforcement and community members gain valuable insights and skills to work together toward creating safer and more inclusive neighborhoods.
Our guest speaker, Jeremy Ellis, is a direct descendant of Kupollee (Pollee) and Rosalie (Rose) Allen, who were shipmates on the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to enter America. He is also the president of the Clotilda Descendants Association (CDA), whose mission is to honor their ancestors, preserve their culture, landmarks, and legacies, and educate the future generations of descendants and the community. The vision of the CDA is to create a global network of descendants who work together to preserve and continue the legacy of their ancestors.
In November of 2023, Jeremy appeared on a CBS 60 Minutes segment as part of a historic conversation between descendants of the survivors of Clotilda and descendants of their enslavers. In November 2020, Jeremy appeared as a panelist on a 60 Minutes segment that covered his ancestors’ story. In February of 2022, Jeremy appeared in the National Geographic Channel’s film, “Clotilda: Last American Slave Ship."
