Belgian-Bolivian, Susobrino, created his own sound by intertwining traditional South American percussion music with electronics. His insatiable curiosity drove him to collect and learn to play different kinds of instruments.
In February 2023, he embarked on a fascinating tour of Latin America, travelling through Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico to get to know local communities and immerse himself in their culture. A transformative journey that included both live performances and studio sessions. The basis for his new album, which will be released in the form of four EPs throughout the year.
The stage name "Susobrino" sums up the essence. Derived from the Spanish word "sobrino", meaning "cousin", it symbolises the artist's role as a warm family member, honouring the traditions and stories of Latin American culture in his music.
