250 years ago, British soldiers occupying Boston left the city to seize arms and supplies in the countryside, firing upon and killing members of the Lexington Ma. militia in doing so, providing the spark for 13 colonies to bind themselves together and through off a monarchical tyranny. We find ourselves, NOW, having such an authoritarian dictatorship thrust upon us...seizures of people and property, the suspension of due process, local legislatures and judges intimidated and threatened, the free press intimidated into silence, and overall the threat of armed force to take our lives, our liberty, and our property at the whim of a mad autocrat and his quislings.
We say NO.
We will gather on the grounds of our Capitol, peacefully, with signs, and quietly and defiantly say NO to tyranny, NO to oligarchs, NO to autocracy and authoritarianism in any of it's forms.
We will have readings from The Crisis, the Declaration of Independence, and our own Constitution as reminders of who we are, and for all our failings, what we ASPIRE to be.
