NO SHAME THEATRE - Like an Open Mic….But TheatreA project started in 1986 at the University Iowa by Todd Ristau and Stan Ruth, No Shame Theatre is a variety show of sorts. Do you have A short play? A stand up routine? A monologue? A song? A Performance Art Piece? A Poem? A Dance routine? If it’s theatrical we want to see it. It just has to follow these rules:
Only Three Rules:
It Must be original
No breaking anything including yourself & the Law
No more than 5 minutes
No Shame is open to anyone of any age, but it does take place at 11pm and there are very few restrictions on subject and language (No Slurs, Give trigger warnings as needed). Sign up starts at 10pm and we will only take the first 15 sign ups. We are serious about the 5 minutes and it includes set up. No kidding, we give you a one minute warning and then shut the lights off. No Shame is a place to experiment with theatre in a low stakes environment, invite your friends, invite your enemies, thrive in the weird. This is No Shame.
