East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, in collaboration with Freight & Salvage, invites you to a screening of the short documentary film No Separate Survival followed by an intimate discussion with the director and filmmakers. Join us at 4:30 for a pre-screening reception with music, appetizers and drinks. The film screening will begin at 5:45. All funds raised will support EBSC’s work in providing legal and social services, Know Your Rights education, and cash assistance for immigrants in the Bay Area.
No Separate Survival is a short documentary film and community experience about asylum seekers across the U.S./Mexico border. Through a lens of creative expression, the film gives voice to what it means to create home and seek safety. Themes of gender identity, loss and violence, chosen families, and the ways we make place reveal our shared humanity in a divisive world.
