A one-woman play written and performed by Denise Bessette, based on the life and writings of the noted provocative and beloved French author, Colette.
On February 5th, 1942 in the midst of the Nazi occupation of Paris, Colette greets and entertains us in her salon at the Palais Royal.
Denise Bessette* (Writer, Actress. She/Her) was seen in THE BALD SOPRANO in both women's roles at Savage Wonder and is so grateful to have NO REGRETS premiere here. She was a founder and producer of Hudson Stage Company in Westchester County during its 25 year lifespan. She appeared in many HSC productions and staged readings, including Nora in A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2. Other theatres include: Huntington Theatre in Boston; Long Wharf in New Haven; the Kennedy Center (when it was still the Kennedy Center); NJ Shakespeare; Interact Theatre Company in Los Angeles. She was recently in the short film, THE ELEANOR in the title role. TV appearances include Law and Order; Law and Order SVU, The Other Two on MAX, Seinfeld, Bull among many others. Denise was the proud producer of Brenda Withers' OFF PEAK as the closing production of HSC and its subsequent Off-Bway production at 59e59 and publication. She is thrilled to be the grandmother of Lucy, the mother of Aaron and Lilah, a mother-in-law to Kate, and the lifelong partner of Paul. For all their years of compassionate support throughout, and to her family and friends, deepest thanks.
After you arrive at 141 Main St, venture below the sidewalk to "Savage Wonderground" and prepare to be greeted by our delightfully caffeinated crew as we usher you into our theatrical nest.
