About this Event
It's baaack!
From June 1st to September 1st, Remake - a non-profit organization working at the intersection of climate justice and human rights - encourages people all over the world to press pause on the purchase of new clothing and, instead, reflect on their relationship with shopping.
By challenging yourself to buy 'no new clothes' you will reduce your carbon footprint, build healthy psychological habits, limit the waste you send to landfill, and keep your hard-earned dollars from companies that don't provide their garment workers living wages or safe working conditions.
Feeling up for it? If so, you are invited to help kick off PNW Climate by making a big impact!
Join the Remake Seattle Community in collaboration with Anchorhead Coffee & Bakery by contributing to a clothing swap that aims to transform the way you engage with the clothes in your closet this summer...and, hopefully, beyond!
- Grab your favorite drink.*
- Head downstairs.
- Check-in.
- Swap!
*The first three people to arrive will receive a free drink!
Everyone is welcome! Please bring clean, season-appropriate items in good condition (i.e. no stains, no smells, etc). There will be hangers, racks, and tables to use for display. Feel free to hang out in the community space as well.
Attendance is free. You can pop in or out as many times as you would like, however, please ensure to bring at least one item(s) to swap.
Donations are also strongly encouraged. If you are able, please consider making a contribution here. All proceeds will directly support the effort to make fashion a force for good. Remake is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The EIN/tax ID is 47-318193.
Note: Leftovers will be donated to a local shelter in need!
Can't make it? You can still join the challenge! Learn more here.
