This a local Indivisible event organized by Indivisible Jefferson County WV. On October 18th, from 4- 5:30 p.m., RAIN OR SHINE, we are organizing an event to stand united against the idea of "kings" in our democracy.We believe in "no thrones, no crowns, no kings." Our democracy is under attack. Your first amendment rights are under attack. We will not stand by quietly.
Indivisible Jefferson County WV had one of the most successful events this county has seen. We gathered 1400 people in the streets in June. We wanted our voices heard. We were heard! We can bring more people into the streets!
Here's how you can participate and amplify our message: * Bring signs or props: Make your message visible with signs and banners that emphasize themes like:
NO KINGS * Democracy Has NO KINGS * NO KINGS in America * NO THRONES. NO CROWNS. NO KINGS * Fight oligarchy * NO KINGS. NO DICTATORS. NO OLIGARCHS * NO KINGS. NO FASCISTS * RESIST. Like it is 1938 Germany * Rejection Kings since 1776 * Presidents are not Kings * NO KINGS 1776. NO KINGS 2025
Please take pictures of your signs and the event and email them to [email protected] so we can post them on social media.
Tag your social media posts with #IJCWV and #NOKINGS.
Recruit friends: The more people who participate, the more powerful our message.
Record everything: Post photos and videos using the hashtags #NoKings and #IJCWV. Tag media outlets.
We are fighting for our democracy! We are fighting for our constitution.
Other notes from the organizers: We encourage everyone to support local businesses during the event. Please consider buying a cup of coffee, grabbing something to eat, or shopping in the area.
We ask you not to park downtown, and a map will be sent out with another email. It will also be available on the Facebook event. Please do not jaywalk at any time. There are intersections that can be used easily. Please ensure any pedestrians are able to walk on the sidewalk, because we will not obstruct them. Consider carpooling.
As always you will see our Marshals in the event, they will have orange vests on. We ask you to follow their instructions.
At our Care Station you will be able to sit and rest, or grab a bottle of water.
