I’m excited to announce that the Nationwide No Kings 2 Rally will be held at Abilene City Hall on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 3–5 p.m.
Our first No Kings rally was a tremendous success, and with your support, we can make this one even stronger.
If you’d like to be a speaker—or know someone who would—please reach out to me, Melissa Weaver, at [email protected] . We’ll be using a submission process to help ensure things run smoothly. And if anyone is in touch with the history professor who spoke so powerfully about fascism at our last event, please encourage him to connect with me—we’d love to have him back!
For safety, the Abilene Police Department (APD), city manager, and emergency management department will all be notified. We’ll also be raising funds to hire off-duty APD officers as an additional security measure. Officers cost $60/hour, and donations can be sent here: https://cash.app/$defenddemocracyabi. The well-being of our community always comes first.
Thank you all for your courage in standing up for democracy, justice, and the rights of others. Exercising our First Amendment rights is one of the most patriotic things we can do in the face of the rising fascist, MAGA, alt-right movement.
So bring a creative sign, bring a friend, and join us on October 18 to show that we will not be intimidated or silenced. Together, we’ll continue to stand strong, peacefully and nonviolently—because love is always the way.
