Alyssa Avery – violin / 5-string violin
Ranya Iqbal – cello
Sarah Vie – violin
The St. Louis String Collective is a 501(c3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and performance opportunities in and around the St. Louis region. StLSC focuses on techniques and styles outside of the traditional classical pedagogy, such as developing improvisational skills, learning by ear and exploring global music traditions. We support violin, viola, cello and bass players who embrace all styles of music, especially those not taught at music schools – jazz, blues, rock, folk, experimental, anything considered “alternative” and especially those that incorporate improvisation. Their performances range from modern compositions, to traditional folk string tunes, as well as abstract scores utilizing improvisational techniques.
