Introducing the NLBB Spotlight Series! For select months of 2025, we will feature members of the band in small ensembles across all music genres!
This month's featured group: Gianni Gardner & Ascent
Gianni Gardner is a jazz guitarist and composer based in New York City, leading the quintet Ascent, which performs original compositions inspired by artists like Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, and John Coltrane. Ascent features international and NYC-based musicians, including saxophonist Mackenzie McCarthy, pianist Francesco Pollon, bassist Conway Campbell Jr., and drummer Peru Eizagirre.
A recent graduate of Manhattan School of Music (M.M. ’24), Gianni studied with renowned jazz artists such as Mike Moreno, Marc Cary, and Ingrid Jensen. He regularly performs with Ed Fast and Conga Bop and Sean Nelson’s New London Big Band, appearing at venues like Birdland and The Side Door Jazz Club.
In June 2024, Ascent recorded their debut album, set for release in January 2025, showcasing a dynamic mix of styles from hard-swinging jazz to emotional ballads.
Schedule: The band will perform two hour-long sets (6:30-7:30pm and 8:00-9:00pm). Both sets are Included with your ticket purchase.
Seating & dining: In order to provide you the best service possible, we have a variety of seating times for this show between 5:30pm and 6:15pm. Choose the ticket based on the time you'd like to be seated. We ask that you please arrive at the seating time on your ticket, so that we may give you proper service.
Tickets: $10 presale, $15 at the door. A service charge will be added to the ticket price.
Group discounts: We offer discounts for groups of 6 or more! Click the Group Discount ticket and make your purchase. Group discount is only available when one person buys the tickets. We cannot give you the discount If everyone buys the tickets separately. We apologize for any inconvenience.
