About this Event
The NKBA Tennessee Chapter invites you to join our Chili Cook-Off!
This friendly, fast-paced competition brings together designers, builders, vendors, and industry partners for a night of team-building, food, and fun at CenWood Appliance Nashville.
Participants will be grouped into small teams to create the best bowl of chili in town—all while networking, laughing, and showing off your culinary creativity! NKBA board members will join in as team mentors and judges will crown our chapter’s Top Chili Champion.
How It Works
- We’ll have 4–5 teams of 3–4 people each.
- You can sign up as a full team or register individually to be placed on one.
- Registration closes Wednesday, November 6th.
After registration, teams will be finalized and introduced so they can connect, plan recipes, and get ready to bring the heat! - Each team will have 90 minutes to cook and plate their chili using a shared pantry of ingredients (plus any secret additions you want to bring).
- Judges will evaluate entries on flavor, creativity, presentation, and team spirit.
Competition Rules & Process
1. Team Structure:
Each team includes 3–4 participants and may include a:
- Team Captain
- Chef (primary cook)
- Sous Chef (assistant)
- Runner (gathers ingredients and helps)
2. Time Limit: 90 minutes to cook and plate your chili.
3. Ingredients:
- A pantry with base ingredients and seasonings will be provided.
- One protein (e.g. ground beef) will be supplied.
- Teams may bring one “secret” ingredient of their choice.
4. Equipment: Each team must bring their own large pot; all other basic supplies are available at CenWood.
5. Judging Criteria:
Flavor (50%)
Creativity (25%)
Presentation (15%)
Team Spirit (10%)
6. Prize:
Award will be given for Best Chili!

Event Schedule
Info: Doors open at 5:30 PM for check-in, drinks, and networking. At 6:00 PM, the heat is on as teams fire up their stations for 90 minutes of cooking and creativity.
After the countdown, judging begins at 7:35 PM and awards announced by 8:15 PM.
The night wraps up at 8:30 PM with networking and bragging rights for the winners!
