This biopic of Beatles manager and music innovator Brian Epstein charts his rise from his Jewish family’s Liverpool furniture store to the top of a global musical empire. Epstein famously “discovered” the Beatles performing at Liverpool’s Cavern Club, brought them to the United States and The Ed Sullivan Show, and changed popular music forever. At the same time, the hardworking Epstein launched and managed other musical careers and struggled to find love as a closeted gay man when same-gender relationships were illegal. Midas Man lovingly recreates the Swinging Sixties, starring Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit) as Epstein alongside Emily Watson, Eddie Marsan, Jay Leno (as Ed Sullivan), Eddie Izzard, and a perfectly cast group of up-and-coming actors as the Beatles. The Opening Film of the 2025 NY Jewish Film Festival and of the 2024 Toronto Jewish Film Festival.
When the Midas Man credits roll and the theater lights come up, we will celebrate 25 years of the New Jersey Jewish Film Festival and the immortal music of the Beatles with a live cover band!
