Join the 4EEE crew for this weekend in the rugged and beautiful Pine Barrens at the Citta Boyscout Camp! For teens aged 13-17.
This winter weekend will challenge teens and push their skills in colder, possibly wet winter conditions. The Pines offers opportunities for track and sign identification, overland travel, locating dry firewood, making and tending fires for warmth, meal preparation and winter time projects.
Participants will be asked to participate in the meal offerings, helping with the preparation, cooking and clean up after meals.
We are thrilled to be able to come together and focus our time and attention on these skills as a group.
Arrival: Friday, February 28, between 3-4pm.
Departure: Sunday, March 2, 12pm noon.
Meals: All main meals included - dinner on Friday; breakfast/lunch/dinner on Saturday & Sunday; breakfast on Monday. * Please pack any snacks or beverages the participant would like in addition to meals (granola bars, hot chocolate, tea, etc.) *
Participants will be asked to participate in the meal offerings
Lodging: Teens will be staying in Yurts, no need to bring a tent, unless you'd like your own space. We are hoping to provide some propane heaters, but come prepared to possibly not be sleeping in a heated space.
Suggested packing list:
- Optional: Tent and tarp
- A warm sleeping bag (it can get chilly at night)
- Sleeping Pad
- Cold weather clothing (best to bring extra layers just in case!)
- Rain/Snow Gear
- Hat, Beanie and Gloves
- Two pairs of seasonally appropriate shoes
- Headlamp / Flashlight
- Bandana / Blindfold
- Water Bottle
- Small backpack / drawstring bag
- Eating Utensils: Bowl, plate, cup, spoon, fork
- Towel
- Toiletry items (biodegradable soap only please)
- Journal and writing utensil
- Bug repellent, preferably natural and non-toxic
- Non-folding carving knife (we have some to borrow or purchase if you do not have one)
- Tweezers for tick removal
