Congratulations to those who auditioned, and who have been invited to participate in the Salsa Ladies Styling track, which is a path to becoming an NJ Salsa Performance Team member!
Viviana Fernandez will be the director of choreography for Salsa Ladies Styling. Viviana is the director of the NJ Salsa Student Team; a Salsa performance team grounded in traditional Cuban rueda. Viviana was originally recruited by Steve Santos, Director at NJ Salsa, because of her unique expression when styling. She has gone through the instructor training program, and an extensive internship process, before being invited to be a coach, then an instructor with NJ Salsa.
We invite you to engage in the weekly practice of conditioning the feet and body to move to salsa music, in a way that explores the dynamics of decorating a dance to raise its aesthetic value, a process commonly referred to as styling..
Please be ready to give 100% in practice. Come in comfortable clothing and with sneakers, or shoes with the least amount of traction. It's an expectation that everyone enrolled in this track will put in additional work on their own, or with their teammates. We understand that this will look different for everyone based on their life commitments, but we also know that everyone can do a bit more work on their own, and in their own way. Use the energy of the class to motivate you to practice on your own, to move you closer to the goal of performing.
All training programs will take place at the Crave Cave in the same space as your audition. Street parking. There are snack shops, and restaurants surrounding the Crave Cave should you need a bite, coffee, or water before starting practice.
