Join the New Jersey branch of the International Dyslexia Association in partnership with Decoding Dyslexia NJ and Fairleigh Dickinson University's Dyslexia program at Monmouth University for a morning filled with workshops, discussions, and resources to help parents support their children's literacy development. Connect with other parents, learn from experts, and leave feeling empowered to make a difference in your child's reading journey. Keynote with Natalie Franzi Dougherty, Director, NJDOE Office of LEAR
Info: Natalie Franzi Dougherty is the inaugural Director of the Office of Learning and Academic Recovery at the New Jersey Department of Education. She collaborates with educators and leaders to support student learning, strengthen literacy outcomes, and ensure high-quality instruction for all children.
A lifelong advocate for evidence-based teaching, Natalie has served as a district-level administrator, focusing on academic success. She is committed to supporting Multilingual Learners and ensuring they receive the necessary instruction and resources.
Natalie was part of the 2023 NJSLS K-5 ELA Standards writing team and has been instrumental in advancing literacy instruction in New Jersey. She is proud to have contributed to the development and passage of New Jerseyβs recent literacy legislation. With experience in middle school reading and special education in an inclusive elementary setting, she understands the challenges and opportunities in NJ schools.
