NJ Audubon: Forest BathingNovember 16 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Led by Joy Mentzer, Certified Forest Bathing Guide
Forest bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku. It is a practice that supports health and wellness through guided immersion in nature. Forest bathing is a slow walk where people are guided through a sequence of invitations to slow down, be present with our senses, and experience the natural environment. Research studies have shown the practice of forest bathing has many benefits. The impact on our health is substantial: lowering blood pressure, boosting immune function, improving quality of sleep, and decreasing stress & anxiety. The practice of forest bathing creates a path to reconnect and deepen the relationship to nature, to others, to our communities, and to ourselves. The health of nature and the health of people are woven together.
Joy is a certified Forest Bathing Guide through the Shinrin Yoku Association. She strives to live a life that honors the connection between nature and people.
